Rollformers supply customised steel products to exacting quality standards. Additionally, Rollformers manufacture custom steel buildings, which are capable of being manufactured in preset sectional lengths. This means that their customers could order a custom made utility building fairly easily and also add in additional doors and windows. However, their problem lay in what components were needed to build the custom building and it was talking a highly skilled person up to 8 hours to draw each building. These drawings were required for pricing the building, manufacturing specifications and also Council Consents.

Rollformers needed a design tool for their sales team which provided drawings for Council Consent also and a management tool for manufacturing. Dynamic Solutions worked closely with Rollformers to create a custom software solution. The resulting solution was a Design Tool which enabled sales team to design a bespoke utility building with the client on site. The client was able to choose all dimensions of their building (height, width, length, roof pitch) including positioning and size of doors and windows, and also the colour of the steel. Once the design was finished the exact sale price was automatically generated. This gave the sales staff and the client the ability to instantly amend the building’s specifications to better suit the client’s budget if required.

Due to Council regulations all utility buildings require consent before they are erected. Rollformers now had a tool which automatically generated drawings which were in compliance with the Council requirements. This cut out a vast amount of drafting time which could be better spent elsewhere.

In addition to the Design Tool, the system also provided detailed materials lists called Cut Lists. Once a building is ordered, the Cut List is provided to manufacturing so they can assemble all the necessary parts to create the building, down to the exact number of rivets required.

Rollformers now have a tool which gives them accurate drawings for Council Consents, a detailed list of exactly what is required to make the building and an accurate real-time pricing tool they can use when meeting with their clients.
